Adega De Borba1. Adega de Borba: Looking for representation in the UK

The Adega de Borba winery has more than 50 years experience in producing Top Class wines and is one of the most well known brands in Portugal. We have state-of-the art winery and we are doubling our production capacity this year.

We have 2.200 hectares of vineyards with 24 different grape varieties and we are probably the most important Touriga Nacional wine producer in Portugal. Currently we belong to the TOP 10 major wine producers of Portugal, with a share of 15% of the Alentejo wine market and 7% in total of the Portuguese market.

We are looking for a company to represent us in the UK who can help us approach the off-trade segment and explore opportunities with clients working with on-line sales.

You will find a wide range of wines, from very well priced entry level, to exquisite wines, many of them recognise in International Wine Challenges.

In addition, we have the know-how and grapes to provide a tailor made wine especially for the U.K. market, if necessary.

We are very confident that with the right partnership, Adega de Borba wines have all the key factors to be a huge success.

Alicana2. Alianca (also on the Boutinot Stand K32)

At the London International Wine Fair Boutinot will be representing wines from key Portuguese agency Aliança, one of Portugal’s largest and most progressive producers, controlling 600 hectares spread across estates in five regions – from Douro in the north to Alentejo in the south.

Mário Neves from Aliança, who will be on hand at the ViniPortugal stand during the Fair, oversees what must be one of the most diverse ranges in Europe – from one of the largest Portuguese rosé brands (Casal Mendes) to some of the country’s most impressive premium reds from estates in Douro, Dão, Bairrada and Alentejo.

Winemaker Francisco Antunes skill lies in his ability to produce exceptional wines between these extremes, encompassing a range of mid-priced wines from native varieties, whilst at the same time retaining fresh, modern fruit and an international style.

An example of this is the recent addition to the Vista range, which you can taste on our stand. From Beiras, the Vista TR Rosé is produced with Tinta Roriz grapes from Aliança’s vineyard in Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo. This attractive dry, yet fresh, rosé has an abundance of strawberry fruit and an approachable style. It is a welcome addition to the Vista TR and Vista TN Reserva, produced from Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional respectively – a range that has already proved both popular and successful. All varieties normally retail between £6 and £8.

Vista TN Reserva received recognition at the International Wine Challenge 2010, whilst the TR took medals at both the International Wine Challenge 2010 and the Decanter World Wine Awards 2010.

c-da-silva-(vinhos)-sa3. C da Silva

C. da Silva is a traditional Port Wine company founded in 1862. The quality of the company’s wines has been internationally recognised and the focus on the higher quality “Special Category” Ports, particularly Colheitas (Single Harvest Tawnies), makes this company one of the jewels of the sector.

In recent year’s innovation by the company has been notable, with production of the “Golden White” range in the super-premium segment, with special Port blends elaborated by noted Portuguese chefs, with a new range of Dry White Ports intended particularly to accompany food, and with Rosé Port, targeted at the younger consumer and more informal occasion. In 2010 C. da Silva returned to the production and sale of Douro table wines, concentrating on the premium Reserve category.

encosta-longa5. Encosta Longa: Looking for representation in the UK

Encosta Longa is a Portuguese wine producer located at the very heart of the Douro Region. The company was established in January 2002 and it is the result of the experience acquired by its founding members.

It was founded to give continuity to a very old winery, which worked with traditional methods and produced Port wine and table wines. Today, the winery dedicates its production to table wines.

At the end of 2010, Encosta Longa adopted a brand new Corporate Identity, with a new logo, a new label designs, a new Website and new marketing materials, enabling Encosta Longa to be more available and competitive in the market with a refreshed image.

julia-kemper9. Julia Kemper Wines, Quinta do Cruzeiro: Organic wines (certified) looking for representation in the UK

CESCE Agricola is the owner of the Quinta do Cruzeiro that has been in the Melo family, and producing wine, for over four centuries. The farm is located in the Dão region, on a plateau sheltered by three mountain ranges that protect the “castas” from maritime and continental influences. The vineyards are planted on sandy well-drained soil that covers granite rock.

When the farm was modernised in 2003, CESCE decided to produce nothing but organic biological wines as it believes this is the required basis for better quality wines. The wine cellars, which date back from the early 19th century, were therefore rebuilt and adapted. The granite “lagares” in which the grapes are trodden by foot were repaired and are still today an important part of the vinification process. The use of tradition, modern technology and the best oak barrels turn the grapes of the existing 40 acres into the best Dão wines available, which are sold under the brand of “Julia Kemper”. The red wine presents a very mature forest fruits aroma, with nuances of cherry, cinnamon and spices, and a refined bouquet, while the white wine also has a fresh fruit aroma with hints of tea, balanced mouth, complex and structured. Both wines have been extremely well received by the market due to their originality, achieving the highest recognition from both critics and end-users on a national and an international level, winning top prizes.

The “Julia Kemper” wines are not destined for the mass market, but rather for the selective wine connoisseur capable of appreciating the wines’ unique characteristics. CESCE is looking for a distributor able to address the right market segment with the skills to pass on the history and tradition of these wines.

quevedo12. Quevedo

The Oscar’s wine project is going pretty well. So well, that we were challenged to come up not only with a red but also with a white Oscar’s wine.

Spring has already begun and Summer is around the corner, so guess what? We are going to release it for the LWIF so you can not only refresh a little bit but also smell and feel the aromatic terroir of the Douro valley!

What is in white Oscar’s? A lot of care and attention with our grapes and a touch of love to seal our passion to make wines.

quinta-de-lemos13.Quinta de Lemos: Looking for representation in the UK

Quinta De Lemos was founded in 1997 in Silgueiros, Dao viticultural area of Portugal. Typical Portuguese grape-varieties are planted on the quinta: Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz. Our wines can be separated in two categories: monovarietal wines and blended. 100 000 bottles are produced per year and our wines can be classified “top of the range”, the goal being to spread our production through the 20 most important wine markets.

We would like to find new importers of superior quality wines to promote our products to consumers and reflect the image of our company.

terra-de-alter15. Terras de Alter

Terras de Alter, one of the most innovative wineries in Portugal, will be showing its exiting new range of Portuguese varietal wines made by Peter Bright.

The unique character of the Portuguese grape varieties, which have been generating so much interest, is fully expressed in these new T D’A wines. As well as the varietal range T D’A will be showing the successor to the 2009 Reserva white which was the winner of the Portuguese White wine trophy at the 2010 IWC.

Also on show will be our new premium vineyard/site/ “terroir” wines Outeiro and Telhas.

  2. Delaforce Wine Collection Touriga Nacional Cabernet 2005 – our “Super Douro” if you will

Enoport: Stand N60

The basic thought that inspired us on this project is to offer the market wines from the most interesting wine growing regions of Portuga; using internationally well known grape varieties and Portuguese indigenous varietals as well.

Dão: with the option Colheita Seleccionada, Reserva and 100% Touriga Nacional
Vinho Verde: exploring the unique selling proposition from Portugal
Portuguese Rosé: exploring the 50% Touriga Nacional + 50% Syrah
International grape variety: Syrah, quite well spread production in Portugal and that we can offer in big volumes at a good price.
Our idea is to explore the unique selling propositions from Portugal: Dão, Touriga Nacional, Portuguese Rosé and Vinho Verde as well as try to get the fast lane by getting in on the big volume consumption with the Syrah.

They will be showing a number of different brands including Serradavres, Cabeça de Toiro, Enigma and a low alcohol Vinho Verde from Lagosta.

Fells: Stand P35

Represented

Oakley Wine Agencies: Stand G4

…will be sharing a stand with Litmus Wines, who act as winemaking consultants for wineries around the world. Among their portfolio of wineries, Falua, producers of successful Portuguese brand Tagus Creek features strongly, and this is the common winery to the two companies.

Oakley Wine Agencies will be showing some of their established agencies – Joao Portugal Ramos’s wine estates will feature strongly, with Alentejo, Tejo and Douro wines on show. From the Lisbon coast, Sanguinhal, Quinta de Sant’Ana and Quinta do Casal Branco wines will be present. The big story here is the fresh crisp whites and cool climate reds from this very distinct district, which shares a climate remarkably similar to that of Bordeaux and Napa/Sonoma

From the Douro, Quinta Nova, owned by the Amorim family, will feature strongly, with some port wines also on show.

Added to these will be some new faces – Cazas Novas from the Vinho Verde, Herdade de Sobroso from the very extreme east of the Alentejo, where they are making bright fresh and supple wines on the banks of the massive Alqueva barrage. This huge area of water tempers the climate beautifully, to the advantage of the winemaker.

Finally our new Dao offering Boas Vinhas, as well as the Flor de Nelas Seleçao (launching in Sainsbury at the same time as the show) are expected to wine even more new friends. This wine has been the most successful launch of any wine the company has introduced up till now.
