Testimonials from 2015 exhibitors:
‘Wines Unearthed at the London Wine Fair in 2015 was a perfect proposition for us as an independent producer. Not only did participation with Wines Unearthed allow us an affordable base from which to showcase our wines but Judy and Ana made an effort to support all the participants throughout the Fair. Moreover, the Route to Market conference on the eve of the event gave a crucial insight into the UK trade which I really appreciated. After doing my homework, my first year resulted in a couple of listings with a renowned High Street Retail Chain.’ Tom Davey, Responsable Commercial – Gaby/Moya/Moya Meaker

‘I’m very pleased to have been selected to participate at the Wines Unearthed section of the London Wine Fair in 2015 as it brought me two new deals with UK importers! I’m a small sustainable producer and was very happy to see that my three days there ended up being very profitable.’ Didier Charton-Vachet, Domaine Charton-Vachet

Are you looking for distribution in the UK, and for a cost effective way of finding the right partner or supply channel?

After it’s much acclaimed launch at the 2015 London Wine Fair, we are delighted to invite producers from around the world to the second Wines Unearthed. If you are looking to crack the prestigious yet competitive UK market, please join us in London in May 2016 .

Wines Unearthed is a section of the London Wine Fair dedicated to matching producers seeking representation to UK and international buyers. A fully serviced and cost effective exhibiting option, with its own identity and open only to qualifying buyers.

. . . . .  One great example of this was Wines Unearthed at the LWF, where producers were looking for distribution and any buyer walking in their space knew that. That was a very clear way to communicate intentions and needs of wineries. The organisers of Wines Unearthed prepared a booklet about the best ways for wineries to enter the UK market. Each participating winery received this booklet and, in my opinion, it is a great value for those looking for distribution in the UK. These are the kinds of tools that wineries need .. . . . . About Wines Unearthed

‘Unearthed’ meaning ‘to be uncovered, revealed, discovered’.

We know that there are a lot of wines still to be discovered by UK wine importers and buyers. We also recognise that you, as a producer, can use the important UK market as a springboard to help you sell in other countries of the world. Here is a little more about Wines Unearthed:

  • The area is curated by JK Marketing and The Wine Agency (Judy Kendrick and Ana Sofia de Oliveira, the Drinks Business PR Company of the Year 2015).
  • You will have your own branded 3 square metre space within the Wines Unearthed area which, for 2016, will be located on the balcony immediately opposite esoterica. esoterica is the section of the Fair where small UK based wine importers exhibit, so it’s a great location for producers looking for distribution)
  • Everything you need will be provided, you just need to make sure your bottles are there. Included in the cost of exhibiting is your branded space, a counter (with storage), ice, ice box, water biscuits, plus some additional goodies which will include a table top spittoon, a foil cutter, corkscrew, bottle sealers and slow pourers).
  • A specially formulated tasting brochure will list your winery and all the poignant points a buyer is looking for (this is included in the cost of exhibiting as well)
  • You need to apply to exhibit. We want to ensure the quality of the exhibitors. This is something that is essential to attracting the right visitors. Once your application is accepted you will be able to choose your preferred exhibition space.

Attracting the right buyers:

  • The Wine Fair will be incentivising buyers to visit with subsidised travel and special lunches
  • You will be part of the major press effort that promotes the Fair nationwide and targeted mail-shots will be sent to relevant buyers who we know buy direct from producers around the world
  • <

The Road Map to Export – a comprehensive booklet and a seminar that exhibitors are expected to attend the day before the Fair.

We believe that producers who know and understand the market will sell more wines more effectively. This is vital to the success of this project and to helping you find a relevant partner.

So to help you prepare, we are offering:

  • To send confirmed exhibitors some specific and chosen content from ‘The Road Map to Export to the UK’ for FREE. This is part of a comprehensive document that takes you step by step through the complexities of selling to the UK market.
  • A FREE seminar ‘The Road Map to Export to the UK’ on Monday 2nd May from 4pm – 6.30pm. In 2015 the seminar was chaired by the well-known wine business advisor and journalist Robert Joseph. Speakers included David Gleave from Liberty Wines, the team from leading independent retailer Vagabond Wines, and Charlie Young the owner of the award winning wine bar and shop Vinoteca. The 2016 line-up of speakers will be announced shortly.
  • This seminar will give you the tools to understand more about the UK market, how to price your wines, and what you need to do to really succeed. It will prepare you for the Fair and is an invaluable part of the package. It is expected that all exhibitors will attend.
